Helen, GA to Alabama

I made it to Tennessee. One more point for my ABC's.

When I got a few miles into Tennessee, I rode past the national park where they held the whitewater events for the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. I decided to stop and walk around. It was pretty neat. There were even a few kayakers paddling on the river.

I finally made it to Alabama

I was glad to finally make it to my campsite tonight. It was drizzling all night. I was able to find a spot under a tree that was relatively dry. Tomorrow I am going to try to make it to Hot Springs Village, AR to visit my parents. It should be a long ride It's about 500 miles and I have to try to get my motorcycle serviced along the way.

Waiting in Ponte Vedra for the rains to stop

Today, I was planning on going up to Thomasville, Georgia to see my Aunt, Uncle and Cousin. I haven't seen then since my cousin's wedding last May. Unfortunately, it was raining in Jacksonille in the morning and it was a nasty thunderstorm all the way to Thomasville.

I decided to wait in Ponte Vedra to see if the rain would stop in time for me to get to Thomasville by dark. Unfortunately, it was very nasty weather the whole day. I ended up just running errands with Linda during the day and then watching Ethan at his soccer practice.

Ethan at Practice

After Practice, we went grocery shopping for a few last minute things for dinner. Ethan went with us and he had his usual "I can't be up to no good, I'm so innocent." look on his face. We had to take a picture of him.

After dinner, we watched some TV and Ethan found my sunglasses. He started hamming it up. Yeah, he's so innocent!

Everyone went to bed fairly early. Linda even put milo the parrot to bed early.

Tomorrow, I'm heading to Thomasville no matter what the weather is. I need to make it there tomorrow for sure. I'm heading to bed myself.

Hanging out in Ponte Vedra Beach with the Penn Family

Today I slept in until 9:00. The kids had already left for school. Linda and I had a couple pastries and decided that we would go out for a ride on my motorcycle.

We got all cleaned up, (yes, a shower felt really good) and then went out to watch Linda's tennis team who were playing a match.

Linda was a little apprehensive about riding on my motorcycle. We only stayed there a little while. We went to Brucci's and had a couple slices of pizza for lunch. It was pretty good pizza.
