Twenty years ago today I was in Pontoon Beach, IL and I got married. It doesn’t seem like it was that long ago. Oh, well....
Anyway, enough about that. Let’s talk about what happened today. Ricky came over to cut some more wood this morning . He and Keith were going to cut down some trees that his dad wanted to have cut down. Ricky started cutting down the first tree. I was three different trees that had grown together at the base. When he got the first chain saw stuck, you knew that it was going to be problems.
When he started to cut with the second saw, the part that he was cutting split away from the other two and fell towards the barn. It fell right on it. Oops!
Surprisingly, there wasn’t any major damage to the barn. The only thing that was wrong was one little 2x4 on the outside of the roof was broken. Nothing that a few nails won’t fix.
Ricky cut down the rest of the tree and did a much better job with that. It fell right over the road where it was supposed to go.
When they were all cut, Keith got on his tractor and pulled the large trees over to where they do all the cutting of trees into smaller pieces.

After the wood cutting was done, we just had some pasta and stayed in for the night.
